Knee and Elbow Pads Discussions| Do you children participate in sports... Read THIS! | | My boys both participated in sports from age five through high school. While sports are a very good for teaching children team work, and self discipline while building self esteem, they can be very dangerous. My oldest participated in Pop Warner football for flag years and then a few years of tackle, later moving on to cross country and weight training. The younger participated in Pop Warner through his first year of high school, middle school basketball, then JV ball as a sophomore along with weight training and skateboarding. It turned out that skate boarding was the most dangerous, of course it was unsupervised and he was old enough to be out on his own.
In reading the news from Healthier.com today I found surprising is that baseball rates so high in child eye injuries. I think knee pads, elbow pads, and helmets, not eye protection when I think of children in sports."Emergency rooms in the United States treat a sports-related eye injury every 13 minutes. Baseball causes the greatest number of sports-relater eye injuries in children aged 14 and younger, according to the National Eye Institute, while basketball is the...
| | power traction kiting/power kiting/stunt kiting/greta fun!!!!!!! try it!!! | | yo everyone have you ever had a go on a power kite or traction power kite?for those that don't know they are kites that are great fun that can lift you of the ground, depending on factors of your weight/wind/size of kite
and also they can drag you around!!!!like a rag dolly lol!!we started out with a kite called a flexifoil stacker 6
its like a couple of feet'ish wide and a meter'ish long!!
its a great power kite for like doing stunts with it in the sky even though it wont pull you across a field or lift you up!!
its called a stacker cuz you can stack them on top of each other to make it look better and give you some more power!!
there are also diffrent stackers if you wish to go bigger and some of the bigger ones can pull you and possibly lift you!!next we went a bit of a jump right up to a flexifoil blade2 4.9(meters)
now wow this is a beast of a kite!! take this out in the wrong sort of wind and you might not be coming home or at least not in one piece lol
i heard scary storys when i purchased mine and from my friends that had one before us but it didnt put me of because i knew i would be carefull!!
we have had the blade quite a few years now and still love her!!

| | Do you wear a helmet? | | Just curious, do you wear a helmet? knee and elbow pads?If you fall, do you wear bandaids? do you cry? do you swear?:-Dng sort of wind and you might not be coming home or at least not in one piece lol

if you want to be lifted or draged accross a field on ya butt or have a death wish then this is the kite for you lol, but i highly recomend you take it out in low to medium wind at first, just dont choose a mentaly windy day cuz you might just get a scaring of a lifetime!!or even like i say not return home!! one of the scare storys i heard was a bloke got lifted by one of these and flew right accross a main street, over a set of houses and the kite threw him onto a chip shop roof!! where he died!!
, another tip is, this kite comes with whats called kite killers!, basically they are brakes that are strapped to your wrists and when you let go of the handles, then the handles fly of with the kite and your left attatched to...

| | I'm so angry I could scream | | but at the same time I am so very thankful. I know God was watching over my youngest son last night.First let me share my day with you. It was an absolutely glorious spring day in Michigan; just a slight breeze, temperatures in the 70s, and the sun shining all day. I decided it was time to get outside and a good time to start cleaning up the yard. I got addicted to this and started with burning tree branches - the lawn was covered with them from winter storms. By late afternoon I was physically exhausted, not finished but just couldn't do anymore. I retired to my bed and laptop to rest and relax planning to get to sleep early which I was sure would happen after all the exercise and fresh air.Around 7 my youngest son, 16 next week, banged into my room "Mom you gotta see this" and sticking his horribly skinned up arm in my face. From there he dropped his pants enough to expose the abrasions on his hip then hiked up his pant leg to show me the rare meat of his knee... He was a mess but announced it wasn't bad, the only thing that hurt was his hand on the opposite side of his body.He quickly explained he had wiped out on his skateboard and before I could say anything... | |
| | Is it easter or christmas? | | So the easter bunny is on his way. I remember last year how much money i spent on the kids for easter. It was crazy. they each got brand new bikes, helmets, knee and elbow pads, toys clothes and all kinds of goodies. This was between there fathers family and mine. So this year i've decided that they will get 2 small toys each and a small basket of treats. But it seems im not the only one that goes crazy at easter, its like a new trend or something. I've asked family not to get the boys much because I dont want them to expect this every year as it will become more expensive every time. So how do you spend easter. Is it like christmas at your house to? | |

| | What kind of plants you have in your backyards? | | I came to visit and have a vacation as well in my aunt's house here in the province of Pangasinan. She has a garden in front of her house and at the backyard. The space was not that too big. But she has a lot of plant there and flowers. She has 2 pots of Aloe Vera, Sili or peppers, origano, a tall calamansi tree and other plants more. I loved her calamansi tree most. It has a lot of bunga. Nice to look at. lol! She said that she planted those plants so that whenever she needs anything she wouldn't bother to go to the market anymore. Yeah, it really helpful whenever she needed calamansi for her sinigang she can get anytime. I used it as well for home beauty regimen. I used calamansi to lessen the darkness of my knee and elbow. Used also for underarm. She uses it also when she has cold and cough. You guys also have any plants in your backyard that really helps you a lot?

| | Does anyone here have multiple sclerosis or the symptoms of? | | I have been suffering with an illness for years.I am so tired of it,1st I was off balance so badly that I could barely walk at all and had to hold onto to walls and stuff. My head would swim if I moved it only slightly,my eye felt like a knife was stabbing it and no medicine made it feel better. Then I started with a numb tingling in my left hand and left foot.It has now traveled up to my knee and elbow. If I walk any distance at all I start to lose the feeling in my feet the further I walk the worse it gets, and the backs of my legs get very stiff and sore. The heat always makes this worse. It is ruining my life what little I had before I got sick.I have been for many tests,M.R.I. spinal tap, nerve conduction tests.I have been told there his nerve damage in the back of my eye but it doesn't account for all the symptoms,I have been told I have multiple sclerosis by one doctor and he says he can't really diagnose me with out more lesions showing up in an M.R.I. .I know having state medical makes matters worse but I would think that since I have been suffering now on and off for ten years and it has gotten worse that they could and should do something. If this is multiple sclerosis then I... | |
| | Have you ever ridden your bike in the dark and hit a big rock? | | So i ride my mountain bike to work at least twice a week to save on gas right now, well it's 12 miles so it takes me a little over an hour to ride it out on the bike trails. So here i am haulin butt down a trail with my head down so i could see because it was windy and as soon as i looked up there was a huge rock in the middle of the path and i smoked it. I ended up flying head over heels over the handlebars and really skinned up my knee and elbow and was just furious. Anyway does anybody else out there have any hilarious biking stories to share? I felt like a complete dumbass about it but now i can pretty much laugh about it. | |
